Project Assistant – Community Resilience
Location: Campbeltown, Hybrid
Salary: £12.60 per hour
Contract Type: 16 – 25 hours, Fixed-term, 6 Months
Starting Date: 01/04/2025
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Project Assistant to support community resilience as part of the Household Resilience Wage-based Placement Project.
Following the recent hurricane-force storm that left thousands without power, our project aims to:
Advocate for stronger power resilience strategies.
Support community resilience hubs and emergency planning.
Engage with government, energy providers, and local authorities to push for change.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about climate resilience, policy advocacy, and community engagement to make a tangible impact.
As part of this role, it is expected that you will assist the Household Resilience Project Manager in their role and support the delivery of project objectives and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Support
Assist in organising and managing project activities, ensuring timelines and goals are met.
Support the development of reports, and funding applications.
Help coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement events.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
Liaise with local councils, policymakers, energy companies, and community organisations.
Support the planning and delivery of public awareness campaigns, petitions, and outreach activities.
Research & Policy Development
Conduct research on energy resilience, climate adaptation, and rural infrastructure challenges.
Assist in drafting policy recommendations and advocacy materials.
Monitor government policies, funding opportunities, and legislative developments related to energy resilience.
Communications & Social Media
Assist in managing social media and website updates related to the project.
Help create press releases, and campaign materials to promote project objectives.
Skills & Experience
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media platforms.
